Kindergarten Fall Intersession!

A group of children joyfully throw autumn leaves into the air along a wooded trail.
Seven children joyfully toss autumn leaves into the air in a sunlit forest.
The beautiful fall hues made the perfect backdrop for the annual Moreland Hills School Kindergarten Fall Intersession! As part of a hands-on, collaborative effort to engage students, teachers coordinated the first of three seasonal intersessions that directly connect to education standards. Students were asked to choose three activities from a selection of autumn-related topics to explore while interacting with peers. The fall intersession enabled students to break out of their normal routine and experience activities such as nature discovery, leaf art, football frenzy, batty bats, and apple tasting, among others. All activities were designed to keep the students' different learning styles in mind while also connecting to a host of other standards in the areas of science, math, art, social studies, and language arts.
