UPDATE ON Varsity Football: Friday's Game Rescheduled for Sunday

Dear Orange Schools Families,

As student safety is always our primary focus, tonight’s varsity football game between Orange High School and Edgewood High School will not be played.  Our buses were involved in an accident on I 90, damaging both buses. All of our student-athletes and employees are safe and returning home, but out of an abundance of caution, we have decided to cancel tonight's game.

Thank you for your continued understanding and support.

Sincerely,

Lynn Campbell

Dear Orange Schools Families,

This correspondence is to follow up about last night’s bus accident involving the football team. The athletic director and head coach have engaged in ongoing communication with the families, and they have met with the team. Athletes were checked out this morning, and the team had a light pre-game workout in preparation for tomorrow’s game.

They have confirmed that we will compete in the rescheduled game tomorrow, October 11th at 4 PM at Ashtabula Edgewood High School. Please note that the band, Lionettes, and cheerleaders will NOT attend tomorrow’s make-up game.

I want to thank the Orange families and entire community for your positive thoughts and ongoing support, as well as the administrators and staff who communicated and handled yesterday’s events effectively. I also want to extend a thank you to the Edgewood administration and staff for their flexibility and understanding in this matter as well and for their willingness to reschedule the game.

Go Lions!

Sincerely,

Dr. Lynn Campbell
