Dr. Chavone Nash is an education and community development professional with more than a decade of experience leading equity-centered programs across public education, nonprofit, housing, and civic systems. Her career has focused on building collaborative partnerships, managing complex projects and budgets, and expanding access to education, workforce development, and civic resources for historically underserved communities. She has held leadership roles in public school districts, legal and housing nonprofits, and regional equity initiatives, where she has directed large-scale programs, supervised teams, secured grants, strengthened community engagement, and translated research and data into actionable strategies. Beyond her professional work, Dr. Nash has served on multiple nonprofit boards, completed leadership fellowships and national trainings, and published doctoral research on college access for underserved students.
Dr. Nash was inspired to join the Orange School Board by her lifelong commitment to public service, education, and equity. As a parent of a current Orange School District student and member of the community, she brings both professional expertise and personal investment to her role. She is dedicated to ensuring that academic excellence, transparent decision-making, and shared leadership remain at the center of the district's work.
As a board member, Dr. Nash is focused on three main goals: strengthening student support systems and well-being through comprehensive academic, social-emotional, and wraparound services; promoting transparent and responsible governance with sound financial planning and accountability; and leading with collaboration by actively engaging educators, staff, families, students, and community partners in district decision-making.
A resident of Woodmere Village, Dr. Nash enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, exploring new restaurants, and reading memoirs and historical narratives to gain different perspectives and insights.
