Mrs. Amber Smalley selected as MonSTAR Teacher of the Month!

We are proud to share the news that MHS teacher Mrs. Amber Smalley was chosen as the Cleveland Monsters’ March MonSTAR Teacher of the Month! Sully the Seagull, the Monsters' mascot, was on hand along with Monsters’ representative Lydia Holman to recognize Mrs. Smalley’s outstanding dedication and positive impact on our students.
Mrs. Smalley was nominated by her sister, Saundra, who wrote, "She profoundly improved the community she serves by being a passionate advocate and pioneer for inclusion. She works tirelessly to ensure her students are included year-round...Through her leadership, compassion, and unwavering advocacy, she has changed how people see ability and has helped build a more inclusive, understanding community for everyone."
We agree wholeheartedly!
The MonSTAR Program recognizes an outstanding educator in the Greater Cleveland area each month. Along with being surprised by today’s visit, Mrs. Smalley will be recognized on the MonSTAR website and at a Cleveland Monsters home game later this month. Her students were offered some Monsters souvenirs, the opportunity to attend a Monsters game, and given a special treat, presented by MonSTAR Teacher of the Month March sponsor, Peace, Love, and Little Donuts.
Congratulations, Mrs. Amber Smalley! We are proud you are ORANGE!!! Cleveland Monsters
