Austin Thomas Named Kiwanis November Senior of the Month

Posted Date: 11/13/2024

Congratulations to OHS senior Austin Thomas who has been named the Kiwanis Club of Lander Circle “SENIOR OF THE MONTH” for November 2024.

Austin has attended the Orange Schools since preschool and says he loves this extended community and giving back to it any time he can. The Varsity Football Team Captain and two-way starter is also a member of the Lacrosse Team and has served as a two-year Captain of the Wrestling Team where he received MVP Honors.

Austin's active involvement is not limited to OHS Athletics; Austin is a four-year member of the OHS Marching Lion Band where he is the Lead Sousaphone player and has been the “i” dotter in ‘Script Lions’ for two years. He is also the first-chair tuba player in the Concert Band. The NHS inductee, who has taken nine AP classes, is a member of the school’s Environmental Club.

When it comes to service, Austin manages to find time to work with middle school students in the Book Buddies program and reach the rank of Eagle Scout. He is part of the Order of the Arrow which is the Scouting’s National Camping Honor Society. Austin has worked as a babysitter and has graciously donated a great deal of time to the Kiwanis Club endeavors.

Every school year, the Kiwanis Club of Lander Circle recognizes six seniors for their leadership, integrity, and academic achievements. We thank the Kiwanis Club for its ongoing support and congratulate Austin Thomas as the November Senior of the Month!
