July 30, 2024 - PEPPER PIKE, OH - Orange Schools is proud to announce that Superintendent Dr. Lynn Campbell has been honored with a 2024 Superintendent Award of Excellence from the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation. The prestigious award was presented at the foundation's annual banquet in Warrensville Heights, Ohio, on July 18, 2024.
Dr. Campbell was one of only five recipients chosen from a pool of 24 nominated superintendents. The award includes a $1,000 grant for use within the Orange School District.
"On behalf of the Board of Education, I am thrilled to congratulate Dr. Campbell on receiving this prestigious award," said Jeff Leikin, Orange Schools Board of Education president. "His visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to educational excellence have transformed our district."
Dr. Campbell's leadership style prioritizes student needs and fosters a safe, supportive learning environment. His approach includes active engagement with all stakeholders - students, staff, parents, and community members - in strategic planning and decision-making, with a strong commitment to respecting diversity. His oversight of the Orange Community Education and Recreation department further exemplifies his holistic approach to education and community engagement.

With 30 years of experience in K-12 public education, including six years as Orange Schools superintendent, Dr. Campbell brings a wealth of varied experience to his role. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, he was recently inducted into the Minerva High School Alumni Hall of Fame. His diverse background as an educator aligns well with the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation's commitment to supporting deeper learning.
The Superintendent Award of Excellence recognizes outstanding educational leadership in Ohio. Eligibility requires at least five years of experience as an Ohio superintendent, with a minimum of two years in the current position. Winners are selected by a committee of educators and evaluators.
The Martha Holden Jennings Foundation, a private, independent organization based in Cleveland, has supported Ohio's public education for 65 years. It aims to maximize the potential of PreK-12 public school students and honor educators.
