Spelling Bee on Stage
The Orange High School Drama Club presents “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” featuring the OHS Pit Orchestra on Friday, April 12, 2024 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 7 p.m. in the OHS Auditorium, 32000 Chagrin Blvd. Tickets are $10 at the door or can be purchased in advance after April 1, 2024 at payschoolsevents.com. Cash only concessions will be sold to help support the Spring musicals.
“The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” is a delightful musical that takes the audience on a whimsical journey into the quirky world of a fictional spelling bee in Putnam Valley Middle School. The show revolves around six eccentric adolescents, each navigating the challenges of adolescence while participating in the intense spelling competition. As the students spell their way through the Bee, the audience gets a humorous and heartwarming glimpse into their individual stories, struggles, and triumphs. With a blend of witty dialogue, catchy musical numbers, and unexpected twists, the musical explores themes of competition, friendship, and self-discovery, creating a memorable and entertaining experience for all.
The cast features OHS Student Thespians Sofia Saab as Rona Lisa Paretti, Stella Glesius as Principle Panch, Danielle Sperber as Mitch Mahoney, Farah Adhami as Barfee, Sarah Gent as Chip, Seamus Buelar as Leaf, Amelia Horvat as Olive, Adler Chefitz as Marcy, Phoebe Glesius as Logainne, and Piper Newman as Jesus.
