Congratulations to Orange High School senior Lindy Leikin who has been named the Kiwanis “Senior of the Month” for February 2024. Lindy has dedicated her high school career to service and academic excellence.
A member of the National Honor Society, Lindy has spent countless hours volunteering with Orange Community Education and Recreation. She has served as a day camp counselor for second graders and as a mentor to the Pre-K children in Safety Town. As Varsity Captain of the OHS Volleyball Team, Lindy was the CVC Athlete of the Week and 2nd All Team CVC Volleyball. She has used both her leadership and athletic skills acquired to train elementary and middle school students in the sport. She works to ensure that the students are engaged and having fun but also safe and inspired.
Lindy serves as the Co-President of the OHS women’s empowerment club “ROX” (Ruling Our Experiences) which educates women in self-defense, confidence, communication, and leadership skills. Through this program she has helped women’s groups around Northeast Ohio including the Renee Jones Empowerment Center where she has distributed self-care packages for those in need. Lindy also runs various social media accounts for the clubs she participates in including Spirit Club and Israeli Culture Club.
The Highest Honor Roll student balances her activities with academic excellence. She plans to attend The Ohio State University and major in marketing beginning this fall. Every school year, the Kiwanis Club of Lander Circle recognizes six seniors for their leadership, integrity, and academic achievements. We thank the Kiwanis Club for its ongoing support and congratulate Lindy Leikin as the February 2024 Kiwanis Student of the Month!
