As part of the US Secret Service’s ongoing partnership with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), trained specialists travel to school and community events to help educate children, caregivers and parents about child personal and internet safety. On February 7, 2024, US Secret Service NCMEC Ambassadors will be joining the Orange Schools community to discuss important topics such as protecting your kids online with smartphone and gaming safety tips and how to position yourself as a trusted adult in their lives. For those with older children, topics can also include how to talk to your teens about sexting and what parents should know about sextortion.
This OHS PTA hosted event will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2024 at 7 p.m. in the OHS auditorium, 32000 Chagrin Blvd. The intended audience is parents and caregivers with children in grades K-12. Due to the nature of the content, children are asked to not join.
The Ambassadors’ mission is to help educate and empower adults to play an active and communicative role in their children’s online activities to reduce child exploitation and prevent future victimization
