Congratulations to Orange High School senior Allison Naar who has been named the Kiwanis “Senior of the Month” for January 2024. It is as important to Allison to focus on academic success as it is to enrich her ‘free’ time with passions including civic engagement, artistry and music.
A member of the National Honor Society, “Alli” also participates in the band program and is a Flag Captain and four-year member of the OHS Lionettes Drill Team. Alli was selected to be a part of the Superior-rated Wind Ensemble and is a recipient of the Instrumentalist Magazine Musicianship Award. Alli also serves as the President of ROX (“Ruling Our Experiences”), volunteering in underserved communities and helping others understand complex real-world issues facing women of all ages.
The Highest Honor Roll student takes pride in her work as a volunteer with Friendship Circle of Cleveland where she connects with children of different abilities through music and games. Alli is a 2023 graduate of “Look Up to Cleveland,” a program that promotes civic engagement through the betterment of the local community. Working with Mayor Justin Bibb and others, Alli helped enhance the Kinsman community through this selective program. In addition, Alli has graciously assisted with the Kiwanis Rummage Sale and Easter Egg Hunt, Orange Wrestling, GLAMOURgals of CLE, and volunteers at the Renee Jones Empowerment Center. Alli also worked as a server at the Chagrin Valley Country Club.
In the fall, Allison will study civil engineering with the long-term goal of enhancing communities through infrastructure and sustainability efforts.
Every school year, the Kiwanis Club of Lander Circle recognizes six seniors for their leadership, integrity, and academic achievements. We thank the Kiwanis Club for its ongoing support and congratulate Allison Naar as the January 2024 Kiwanis Student of the Month!
