31 OHS Students Inducted into NHS

NHS President Lily Warshawsky, Co-Vice Presidents Kynnedi Giles-Watkins and Cassie Russo, Secretary Natalie Borsch, and Treasurer Alexis Nyborg. Each officer lit a candle to commemorate and reiterate the four tenets of the National Honor Society: scholarship, leadership, service, and characterThirty one Orange High School students were inducted earlier this month into the National Honor Society. Following remarks by OHS Principal Mrs. Katie Phillips, the ceremony was hosted by NHS President Lily Warshawsky, Co-Vice Presidents Kynnedi Giles-Watkins and Cassie Russo, Secretary Natalie Borsch, and Treasurer Alexis Nyborg. Each officer lit a candle to commemorate and reiterate the four tenets of the National Honor Society: scholarship, leadership, service, and character. The ceremony also included reciting the National Honor Society Pledge and the distribution of certificates.

 

Among the requirements for NHS members to remain in good standing: having a cumulative unweighted 3.75 grade point average; completing at least 24 service hours per school year; participating in a minimum of three NHS service projects per year; and consistently demonstrating high character and leadership skills. After the ceremony, a reception was held in honor of the new inductees in the Orange High School Commons.
