Phillips Hired as New OHS PRINCIPAL

ohs principalThe Orange Schools Board of Education unanimously approved the selection of Mrs. Katie Phillips as the new principal of Orange High School at its March 14, 2022 regular meeting. Phillips was selected by Superintendent Dr. Lynn Campbell after a lengthy interview process involving multiple stakeholders. Her contract begins August 1, 2022 and goes through July 31, 2024.

Phillips joins the Orange City School District after serving as the Associate Principal Of Kenston High School since 2016. She also served as an assistant principal (2015-2016) and a science teacher (2004-2015) with Kenston High School. Her background includes serving four years as the former varsity coach for the girls golf team and girls track and field team at Kenston.

She resides in Aurora, Ohio with her husband Chris and their two children. She earned her master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of Cincinnati and a master’s degree in biology from Kent State University. She has a bachelor’s degree in integrated science from Malone College. She also earned her superintendent certification through KSU.

My focus is to provide the best educational experience for Orange students and for each of them to achieve personal success.”

We look forward to her leadership as she connects with students, staff and families to carry on Orange Schools’ rich tradition of educational excellence.”

She is preceded by Dr. Paul Lucas who served as the principal of Orange High School since 2010 and has accepted the position as the Orange Schools new Director of Human Resources.
