OHS PRINCIPAL DR. LUCAS NEW HR DIRECTOR

lucasThe Orange Schools Board of Education unanimously approved the selection of Dr. Paul Lucas as the district’s new Director of Human Resources at its January 24, 2022 regular meeting. Lucas, who was selected by Superintendent Dr. Lynn Campbell, will take over this new role effective August 1, 2022. He has served as the principal of Orange High School since 2010.

Lucas has been with the Orange City School District since 2002. He taught science at OHS (2002-2006) before becoming an assistant principal at Brady Middle School (2006-2008) and OHS (2008-2010).

He and his family currently reside in Streetsboro, Ohio. Lucas has spent his entire career with Orange Schools. He earned a doctorate in educational leadership and a master’s degree in education administration from Ashland University. He has a bachelor’s degree in secondary education from Youngstown State University.

“I am excited for this new opportunity to impact Orange students, staff and families at the district level,” said Lucas. “I will miss being with the kids and the staff at the high school everyday but those years of experience will be beneficial in my new role.”

“Dr. Lucas has developed a wealth of experience and knowledge while working for the Orange City School District, and we look forward to the impact he will have as the new Director of Human Resources,” said Campbell. “His involvement both at the high school and across the district on various academic, personnel, and facilities projects has demonstrated that he is the right fit for this position.”

He is preceded in the HR director’s position by Judy Robinson who recently announced her retirement. Robinson has served in that capacity since 2017. Information on the search for the new principal for Orange High School will be announced soon.
