OHS Robotics Earns 1st Place Title!

Congratulations to the OHS Robotics Team under the direction of advisors Ryan McMonigle and Jon Rice! The Flying Circuits, Team 1787, attended the Mahoning Valley Robotics Challenge in Warren, Ohio this past weekend, ranking FIRST out of a pool of 17 teams, winning the overall event, and receiving the award for the top offensive robot! 

Nearly 30 OHS students attended the competition including four new drivers for the event -- Halina Michener, Jack Arch, Nathan Rice, and Charlie Rubsamen -- who all performed extremely well, with Nathan taking over full driver responsibilities for the final matches of the event. With the number one ranking, team 1787 chose teams from Beachwood, Warren, and Pittsburgh as its alliance partners.

The OHS Robotics team includes Jack Arch, Nash Cook, Jacob Dvorin, James Fleming, Meredith Ford, Sarah Friedlander, Aaron Friedlander, Caden Gerckens, Griffin Ginosar, Niranjan Girish, Amelia Horvat, Logan Kaplan, Kerry Kelly, Elise Kemp, Gemma Klisovic, Giada Klisovic, Robert Lamperth, Anna Leitson, Sean Lipton, Charlie Loebl, Rafi Mendlowitz, Halina Michener, Maddie Millett, Nathan Rice, Daniel Roberts, Charlie Rubsamen, Ethan Vincent, and Ben Wei.
