Even with a pandemic and virtual competition, students in grades 6, 7, and 8 did unBEElievably well in this year's Brady Middle School Spelling Bee. All three groups not only succeeded in correctly spelling all of the words in their respective grade categories but went dozens and dozens of rounds with words well BEEyond expectations!
Top spellers in each grade level were: 8th grader Branden Wang with the word "trident"; 7th grader Anshul Sharma with "quarry"; and 6th grader Daniel Lee with "astrologers". The seventh grade round went so long with such strong competitors that it had to BEE split up over two days! While there is not to BEE a regional or national competition this year, the Orange Schools Elementary & Middle School PTA is providing all of the student spellers with gift cards -- not too shab-BEE! Thanks to word pronouncer Meredith Glazer and Spelling Bee Advisor Allison Rozborski for all of their hard work to make this event happen virtually.
Congratulations to all of the amazing students who competed!
