OHS Students Win Art & Writing Awards in Scholastic Competition

Each year the Cleveland Institute of Art hosts the Scholastic Art & Writing Competition that recognizes creative achievement by students in grades 7-12.  The young artists compete for cash prizes, medals, and scholarship awards.  The students' entries are judged by a panel of local professional artists, educators, and writers who select the award winners from thousands of entries. 

Congratulations to our OHS 2020-21 Scholastic Art and Writing Competition winners!  

In the art category: 

Gold Key winners are:  Margot Sanders, Grace Taylor, Abby Thompson (2), and Arwen Whiteman

Silver Key winners are: Piper Anderson (3), Ashley Cohn, Joey Earley, Adelaide Garcia, Kim Marcelino, Rose Martyn (2), Grace Taylor, Arwen Whiteman, and Julia Willis

Honorable Mentions: Piper Anderson (2), Latraceyona Cameron, Ashley Cohn, Anna Klinginsmith, Chayton Mines, Amelie O'Connor, Maddie Smith (3), Grace Taylor, Laura Wei, Julie Willis, Nina Zargari 

Congratulations also to OHS junior Maddie Millett who earned an Honorable Mention award in the Writing Category in the 2020-2021 Scholastic Art and Writing Competition. She was recognized for “The Thanksgiving Throwback” in the category of Personal Essay and Memoir.
