Statement regarding racial oppression

Posted Date: 06/01/2022

The Orange Schools are deeply saddened by acts of racial oppression in any form including the recent national tragedy involving George Floyd. As a safe and supportive school community, we value everyone and believe that our differences make us stronger and more resilient. We stand in solidarity with those in our community who are affected by this in their daily lives and we are committed to building a culture of learning that embraces diversity.

All acts of racism and hatred are deeply disturbing and against what we stand for in our school district and our community. These events weigh heavily on our students, our families and our staff.  We must go beyond words to implement meaningful solutions that eliminate racism, social injustice and bias, and foster equity to provide the catalyst for sustained, systemic change.
