COVID-19 Update: No School Friday 3/13

Posted Date: 06/01/2022

Dear Orange Schools Families,

As officials share more information regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19), we know the importance of keeping our families and community informed. We realize the situation is fluid and appreciate your flexibility as we navigate uncharted territory. The District is continuously monitoring the situation through the Cuyahoga County Board of Health and will adhere to any closures imposed upon us or that we deem necessary for the safety of our students and community.

To ensure preparedness in the event of an extended closure, we are canceling classes on Friday, March 13, 2020. Teachers will use this day to prepare online and alternative content and coordinate instructional resources students will need to complete at-home assignments should the need arise. We will also use this opportunity to further cleanse, sanitize and disinfect our facilities and vehicles. After-school events on Friday are still on at this point.

Although to date we have not canceled after-school or evening campus events, we will make decisions as the situation evolves. Unless otherwise notified, events will go on as planned. However, we are requesting that only immediate family attend upcoming spectator activities to limit crowd size.

For off-campus events involving our students, activities will continue. That said, if hosts, venues or transportation providers cancel, or if an advisor decides to cancel an event for the well-being of our students, we will communicate the information at that time.

The safety and health of our students, staff, and community are our top priority. Please stay tuned as we continue to monitor the advice of health officials. You may reference our previous letter for helpful information and tips.

Thank you for your patience and support during this challenging time.

Sincerely,

Dr. Lynn Campbell
Superintendent
