The buzzing you will hear coming from the March 10th Cuyahoga County Spelling Bee will be the sound of Brady Middle School eighth grader Macy Fletcher (pictured above, seated center) vying for the title of Regional Champion! Macy correctly spelled the word "putrefaction" in the school competition to win the right to compete at the regional competition.

Students competed in independent sixth, seventh and eighth grade rounds. The top three finishers respectively in each grade level are: eighth graders Macy Fletcher, Tira Heiss, and Delilah Regalbuto; seventh graders Harsha Sanaka, Anna Wolf, and Daniel Suh; and sixth graders Anjali Chepyala, Mira Batra and Maya Korland.

This is Macy's third consecutive year winning her grade-level competition. The winner from the regional contest will go on to Washington, D.C. to compete in the Scripps National Spelling Bee for the top title and a large cash prize.  Good luck, Macy!
