Kiwanis Student of the Month for April '22

Congratulations to Orange High School senior Allie Yuan who has been named the Kiwanis “SENIOR OF THE MONTH” for April 2022.

Allie is the Asian Culture Club President in which she works to spread an appreciation for Asian cultures. During her junior year she was awarded the Dartmouth Book Award and placed second in OHS’ American Mathematics Competition 12. Throughout her high school career she has been on the Highest Honor Roll. Allie is the Secretary of the National Honor Society and a Student Government Representative, having previously served as Student Government Secretary. During the Pandemic, she was Book Buddies Room Leader where she mentored preschool students in literacy and served as a peer tutor on Zoom. Allie has also volunteered as a Moreland Mentor, a volunteer at her church and at the Aurora Library in the Summer Reading Program.

Previously, she was involved in “Lunch Bunch,” offering elementary students a safe space to interact with peers and high school mentors during the pandemic.

A finalist in the Google Play Change the Game Design Challenge, Allie was a third place finisher in the Ohio State Hackathon where teams of students are presented with a challenge and must come up with a solution. Allie is also involved in the USACO Coding Club, the OHS Tennis Team, and in her spare time, she babysits and is a Mathnasium Instructor.

Every school year, the Kiwanis Club of Lander Circle recognizes six seniors for their leadership, integrity, and academic achievements. We thank the Kiwanis Club for its ongoing support and congratulate Allie Yuan as the April Kiwanis Senior of the Month!
